55yr old Janice Dickinson Poses Nude for Closer Mag {NSFW}

I am not at all surprised that Janice Dickinson has posed nude. The better question would be what for?

The veteran supermodel bares all in Closer Magazine and tell us she 'loves' her body. Well, I would to if I paid for it.

The former supermodel turned reality TV star is currently filming Celebrity Rehab. Janice tells Closer Magazine, "I love my body, but it's a compulsive obsession. I have to make sure I exercise and that the ingredients that go into my body are completely organic. I relax, meditate and do 80 minutes of yoga every day. I hike and make sure everything I eat is organic. I eat steamed fish, chicken and turkey, plus salads, carrot juice and supplements."

Guess you gotta maintain the surgeon's work right?! *shrugs shoulders*

I am not your "JiggaBoo"

Fashion is always pushing the envelope for new and innovative imagery but when is it too much? Just when you think that we've gotten over that racial hump you are reminded that perhaps some "ish" will never change?

Do you think some things should be left in the past? Or can we recreate them and move one? Or is it like the "N" word and only we can do it?

Leave me a comment with your thoughts?

Why I Love Being A Black Woman

As a young black girl suffering from severe boredom I often wrote poetry to express myself. So when I flipped through the last issue of Essence Magazine (the one with Jada on the cover) that celebrated the love we all should have for ourselves as black women - I instantly became inspired. With so much going on in life it was a refreshing read.

I am gonna share my work with you but here's my disclaimer: I am sensitive about my "ish" (in my Erykah Badu voice) so please leave a comment to show your love.

WHY I LOVE BEING A BLACK WOMEN by Hey Bella

My smooth creamy like brown skin illustrates my courage, the courage that was passed down to me from other great sisters before me. Woman who didn’t take no for an answer and ignored those racial chants so that I could be better. I love being a Black Woman.

The kinks and waves in my hair that I cannot deny proves my determination, I’m naturally beautiful - by default. Long or short, my bella tresses are here to stay. I love being a Black Woman.

Let’s not forget about my curves, curves that America may not accept but sure longs to own for themselves. My curves show you my journey, and the journey of my family. I love being a Black Woman.

My strut that stands tall at any height gives off confidence that demands respect. Respect that I have earned because I love being a Black Woman.

Check out some of my fav celebs as they tell you why they love being a black woman.

Amazing Scarlet Hues for the Fall

Although its hard to imagine, with all this humid air amongst us, summer will soon be over. The leaves will begin to fall and the cool night breezes will enter. So as you get those invites to the city's fab events lets think about that color we all want for this Fall.

The new "it" fall color to rock is scarlet, a bright red color with a hint of orange. Whether its an uber fab fashion week party or dinner with the girls this color makes the perfect garment or accessory pop! Take a look some of my fav designer pieces via Net-A-Porter.

Best of Swim Week 2011

Mercedes Benz Swim Week in Miami is like booty heaven for men, I would assume. That's like Victoria's Secret on steriods. I can't imagine what male photographer wouldn't want to attend - a week FULL of swim wear, my boyfriend was there. Now if you're a hardcore fashion junkie, like myself, you shouldn't expect more than a tan during Swim Week. I mean really, how many times can you see a swimsuit walk down the runway.

There were a few that made me tilt my head to the side, pout my lips and say "that's cute!". Check out some of my favorite lines showcased at the event.

Skinny Jeans for Kids?

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a huge probably with the way our little girls dress these days. Now, thanks to Old Navy, your little princess can wear skinny jeans just like you - and they come in slim and plus size too.

As if grown women don't already have a problem with body image. Now we are infecting our little girls. I am sure this is just a marketing tool, using cool grown up words, but I think this all wrong for obvious reasons.

What happens to the chunky fat girl who buys the super plus skinny jeans? Not every one grows up to be Mo'Nique? Super Plus Skinny jeans doesn't even sound right.

#SoHaute or #SoNot? {Rihanna in PolkaDots}

Rihanna showed up to an after party for her LA concert in this bright polka dot jumpsuit.

I am on this fence with this one. A part of me thinks she's the trend diva and the other half, well not so much!

  • So Haute {its fresh, fun, and uber fab} (9 votes)
  • So Not {What in Baby Jesus' name was she thinking?} (2 votes)

Vogue Africa gets the boot by Conde Nast

Fashion photographer, Mario Epanya, has been trying to convince Conde Nast (publishers of Vogue) that Vogue Africa is both necessary and beautiful. He's even went as far as making mock covers.

Well just like Sarah Palin, the campaign is over for Epanya. Conde Nast apparently rejected his ideas to create another Vogue. I am curious (and still searching) to read some exact quotes from Conde Nast, as you probably are too. I can't imagine people really believe this is merely about race. Sure a large portion probably is, however in these hard economical times were many publications are going online I can hardly see Vogue creating another edition (I mean its already in 18 countries now). This would mean more staff and expenses. But I am just playing devils advocate.

What are your thoughts?

Bella Alert: Keep an eye out for Iconography The Magazine's issue dedicated to people of color in 2011.

Bella Shades {Nooka Venus Shades}

If you are looking to be different, maybe even a little eccentric, Nooka has just the right shade for you. The Nooka Mercury is available in six colors, including four neon shades, as well as the classic black and white.

Just in case shades aren't your thing - don't panic, Nooka is like an accessory God - with watches, wraist-bands, an asset organizer (fancy for wallet?), and even laptop and phone skins.

The Venus shades officially launch tomorrow but are available via presale now. Do you think if I tweet them they will send me a sample pair? LOL!

Bearded Models on the Runway @ MBFW Berlin

Patrick Mohr Show @ MBFW Berlin Spring/Summer 2011 {NSFW}

The fashionistas in the front row look completely stunned. Can you imagine sitting waiting for the show to begin and out walks a model who appears to be a female but has an old man beard and a alien like bald head?

I am all for "expressing" yourself but the models all look like homeless aliens. I have to draw the line somewhere. I would have at least done simple hair and makeup. A beautiful contrast of scruffy and glamor would have sufficed. No?

I had never heard of this designer so I decided to do some research. Apparently Patrick is known for his outrageous runway shows full of clownish makeup and unwearable trash bag like garments. Just Google him I think you will agree. After viewing his site I noticed that he is a simple designer of knit like top and pants (that perhaps I would buy) with a weird way of displaying them, LOL. Maybe he should be in Paris @ Couture Fashion Week. No?

Take a look at the runway images and video below.
